 In 2013 we contracted with Adam Thomas at ConnectTek to provide the internet circuits, cabling and phone system for our new and second location in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Adam’s attention to detail impressed us. The systems went in flawlessly and on time. Staff was trained efficiently, and we are very happy with the systems and services provided.

Eight years later (2020), we called on Adam again. This time to fix our main location in Worthington Hills, Ohio. Adam and Team cleaned up the three equipment racks, provided new cabling and a new phone system. Again, we were pleased with our selection.

In 2023, we began having issues with our Data Provider. Their service response was not meeting our needs. Additionally, we started having issue with the Wireless Access Points and our Firewall was coming up for renewal. We contacted Adam to see if ConnectTek could help us resolve these issues. ConnectTek upgraded our Internet Circuit and installed a second circuit for diversity and business continuity, installed a new Firewall, a new Wireless Access Point System, replaced an older Laptop, and coordinated the transition with all of our other vendors that use the network – POS, Refrigeration, Scales, Lottery, and Liquor. We immediately noticed faster Credit Card Processing, improved Scale price changes, and better connectivity with the network. Our Scales Rep., with Metler-Toledo, was also very impressed with how much better the scales were performing. Not only are we running smoother, but we actually have increased our profitability by improving productivity through better technology.



This year, in 2025, ConnectTek will be replacing our aging Server and Data Back-up. Last year, 2024, we were having major issues with our Data and Wireless Network. Our Scales Rep, with Toledo-Mettler, told us about how a company called ConnectTek fixed network issues at Hills Market. He highly recommended we get in touch with Adam.

We contacted Adam at ConnectTek and told him we were interested in his company fixing our network and scheduled an initial appointment. We had not really done anything in a long time to keep our systems up to date. After a brief meeting, Adam performed a detailed survey of our location. We were only interested in fixing the Wireless Network. Adam assured us that he would focus on that priority but found other items which also needed addressed.

We thought we had fast Internet- a 600Mbps Cable Modem circuit- butconstantly had connectivity issues, and everything always ran slow. We were not aware that the infrastructure we were using was causing the problems. We were only using 1/6 of the speed we were paying for,.

Adam was able to start with the basics and explain all the issues. He started with the infrastructure - Internet Circuit, Cabling, Firewall, Data Switching, Phone System. He found that if we had just replaced the Wi-Fi, we would still be having issues with the Network.

Each step of the process, Adam gave us several options with pricing, and gave us his recommendation for which option fit Weiland's the best. It was often not the most expensive option, and I'm confident his recommendations were sincere and thoughtful.

We added a second Internet connection for more uptime. Upgraded the existing Internet Circuit. Installed a new Firewall, new Data Switches, new Wireless Access Points, Cabling and Phone System. We are very pleased with the products and services offered by ConnectTek. We have not had any issues with the new systems since the installation has been completed.
